The Irondequoit Public Library will present a hybrid program, “Using Local Government Records for Local and Family History,” on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
New York State has over 4,400 local governments and each creates records. Many of these records prove valuable for family history research. This webinar will provide an overview of New York State local government structure, review local government records useful for family history research, and provide tips on the best way to access these records.
The presenter, David F. Lowry, CRM, is an Archives and Records Management Specialist at the New York State Archives where he manages the Archives’ Local Government Advisory Services Unit.
