The Jefferson County Historical Society, located at 228 Washington Street in Watertown, will host a History and Genealogy Fair on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Share your stories and learn about climbing your family tree. Speak with local historians while visiting the newly renovated Jefferson County Historical Society. Many of the towns and villages across the county will be represented. Guest speaker Suzie Renzi-Falge will talk about the 120th anniversary of the Flower Library and Baylor Durant will present a local history talk.
The historical society, housed in the Paddock Mansion, had been closed for more than 3 1/2 years and has a new roof, a state of the art elevator and new exhibits for the public to browse through. The Paddock Mansion once belonged to Edwin and Olive Paddock, who were bankers and entrepreneurs as well as one of the founding families of Watertown.
Cost is $5. For more information, contact the historical society at (315) 782-3491.
