NYS preservation grants recently announced

The New York State Library recently announced the winners of its grant awards for conservation and preservation.

Two public libraries and one historical society were among the winners. Their projects will be on interest to local genealogists.

The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library received a grant for microfilming Buffalo and the surrounding suburbs phone books and directories. The Haverstraw King’s Daughters Library received a grant for the preservation of the “Rockland County Times” via a microfilm conversion. The Huntington Historical Society received a grant for the conservation of historic account books.
