Fort Ticonderoga staff to research lives of soldiers

In October Fort Ticonderoga launched a project – Ticonderoga Soldiers – to trace those who were stationed there from 1755 to 1783.

Staff at the fort museum are looking through military records, orders, court documents and personal letters to trace the lives of the soldiers. Currently there is information to trace more than 3,850 people.  More information will be added when available.

The first part of the project is surveying Fort Ticonderoga’s own archival collections and will later expand to other sources to document the estimated 45,000 soldiers and civilians from across North America, Africa, and Europe whose lives intersected with this place.
