The Buffalo Irish Genealogical Society will meet in person on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 6:30 PM at 100 Lee St. for our Gathering of the Clans. Their topic will be “Were They Orphan At All?” sIn 1867, 3 orphans boarded a train from New York City to spend the summer in Franklinville, NY. They never returned home. 157 years later, modern technology and DNA made it possible to find out what happened to these children and explore the question, were they orphans at all? After the presentation, there will be break-out sessions to help individuals get started with their research. These sessions will be no more than 15 minutes each, to allow more people an opportunity to speak to someone with BIGS. If interested, please contact: BIGSwny.org.
