Albany Rural Cemetery to be topic of presentation

The Clarksville Historical Society (Albany County} will host a presentation on the Albany Rural Cemetery on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Clarksville Community Church, 1997 Delaware Turnpike.

The presenter will be Mark Bodnar president of the Albany Rural Cemetery Association Board of Trustees. He will discuss some of the famous people in our local history who are buried in the Albany Rural Cemetery.  Among the 150,000 or so who are now permanent residents of the cemetery, including members of the Schuyler, VanRensselaer and Corning families, there are many who made a name for themselves, such as inventors, athletes, industrialists and military servicemen.

Mark has documented a variety of individuals who have achieved national prominence as well as many who have made important contributions to society in their own right.
