The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society will host a digitization day on Monday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the NYG & B headquarters at 36 W. 44th Street in Manhattan.
The society’s digital services team has been working to preserve and make accessible as many at-risk documents as possible. Come to the New York City Digitization Center for individual 30-minute slots to digitally preserve your own records for free, using the state-of-the-art Copibook scanner.
You will learn about the image capture and editing technologies used in the digital preservation work. Participants will receive a free external drive that contains their own archivable, high-resolution digital files to take home. Anyone can sign up to participate.
This is a free program but you must register. To register, go to: https://www.newyorkfamilyhistory.org/events/nygb-digitization-day
