Several New York cemeteries will be offering guided cemetery tours during the month of November.
Sleepy Hollow Cemetery (Westchester County) will offer a variety of tours during November. Some of the tour being offered include:
Washington Irving and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow – Saturdays and Sundays
Evening Lantern Tour – Fridays, Saturdays and most Sundays
Daytime Tour – Saturdays and Sundays

Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx will offer a World War I Veterans Walking Tour on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. The tour will include graves and memorials of World War I veterans, men and women, who served in the Great War a century ago. You will meet enlisted men who served in trench warfare, aviators who risked their lives in biplanes and a member of the Harlem Hellfighters. Cost is $20.

The Friends of Lakeview Cemeteries (Suffolk County) will be having a Veterans’ Day Fundraising Tour on Monday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. Benjamin Homan died in the Civil War at the notorious Andersonville Prison. Ticket sales will help professionally restore his grave and funds raised will be doubled thanks to a matching grant from the Robert David Lion Gardner Foundation. The tour of the cemeteries will highlight many graves of over 100 veterans from the Revolutionary War to Vietnam. Tickets are $20. Only 50 will be sold.

Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn offers a variety of tours in November. Some of the tours being offered include:
Presidential Losers – Saturday, Nov. 2 – 1-3 p.m. – In a presidential election, there can only be one winner; everyone else is just… a loser. Discover the ambitions and political upsets of presidential hopefuls like DeWitt Clinton (who lost to Madison in 1812) and Horace Greeley (who lost to Grant in 1872). Plus, hear stories of several more obscure candidates who had great tales of their own.
