The Buffalo and Erie County Public Library will present “New York State Census Records” on Wednesday, March 20 at 2 p.m. Many genealogists use the U.S. Federal Census, but did you know that New York State took ten extra censuses between 1825 and 1925? The Monroe Free Library (Orange County) will a Walk-In Genealogy program on Friday, March 22 from 10 – 11 a.m. Come to the Information desk and ask for Mike. He will spend some time with you to try and help answer your genealogy questions. Sign up not needed but it is recommended that you call first so he can be best prepared to help you.
The Onondaga County Public Libraries will present “My Journey Through RootsTech 2024” on Friday, March 22 at 10 a.m. Experience the essence of RootsTech 2024 with librarian Kate Kisselstein. She will provide her personal recollections and revelations from the world’s largest genealogy conference. The Seward Park Library branch of the New York Public Library will host a genealogy program in person on Friday, March 22 from 2-3 p.m. Use databases such as Ancestry Library Edition and FamilySearch.org. Bring documents or family records to assist with your search.

The Schuylerville Public Library (Saratoga County ) will host a Genealogy Group on Monday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. This is a drop-in group.
The Glen Cove Public Library will host a Genealogy Roundtable on Monday, March 25 at 7 p.m. Share strategies and encourage one another on your research journey. All levels of researchers are welcome. The Ogden Farmers’ Library (Monroe County) will present “Rochester Production in WWII” on Monday, March 25 at 6 p.m. Local reenactor and historian Gary Newman will tell about the many items manufactured in Rochester during WWII, the mass production in America, and why the Allies won the war. This is an in-person meeting.

The New York Public Library will present “Getting Started with Jewish Genealogy” on Tuesday, March 26 at 3 p.m. at 3 p.m. Join librarians from the Irma and Paul Milstein Division of United States History, Local History, and Genealogy and the Dorot Jewish Division as they walk you through the initial steps of Jewish genealogical research.
