The Penn Yan Public Library (Yates County) will host a Family Research Support Group on Wednesday, July 10 at 4 p.m. Learn from others and share your own tips and stories from your genealogical journeys in this ongoing, participant-driven program. The Steele Memorial Library (Chemung County) will present a virtual Genealogy Club on Thursday, July 11 at 1:30 p.m. Join the Steele Memorial Library for an informal get together to talk about search tips and resources available to search your family history. South Huntington Public Library (Suffolk County) will offer an in person Genealogy Drop-In on Thursday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to noon. Thinking about tracing your roots but don’t know where to start? The Fairport Public Library “Genealogy Club” (Monroe County) will meet on Monday, July 15 at 2 p.m. Newspapers are a great source for illuminating the daily lives of our ancestors. There is much information to be found and many more papers and locations are being brought online for use in genealogical research. This talk will give some examples and advice on how to find them and how to use them. No registration required.
The Monroe Free Library (Orange County) will a Walk-In Genealogy program on Friday, July 19 from 10 – 11 a.m. Come to the Information desk and ask for Mike. He will spend some time with you to try and help answer your genealogy questions. Sign up not needed but it is recommended that you call first so he can be best prepared to help you.

The Ogden Farmers’ Library (Monroe County) will host a Genealogy Group will meet on Monday, July 22 at 6 p.m. Jerry Bennett, Underground Railroad enthusiast will share information about the Underground Railroad with us.
