Several public libraries in Western New York will present genealogy classes in April.
There will be a genealogy workshop hybrid program at the Walworth-Seely Public Library every Wednesday in April at 2 p.m. From 2:00 – 3:00 pm, individual assistance in researching is available. This includes getting started with your family tree, finding out what resources are available and/or scanning and uploading images. At 3:00 pm, a video or two related to genealogy research will be shown.

The Buffalo and Erie County Public Library will present “New York Masonic Genealogy” on Saturday, April 8 at 10 a.m. This is a virtual program. Are there Masons in your family history? Masonic records can yield a wealth of genealogical information. Join us for a presentation about how to submit a genealogy request to the Chancellor Robert R Livingston Masonic Library of Grand Lodge, the Masonic terminology that a researcher may encounter when researching Masonic genealogy, and the resources that Masonic Libraries have that are used to do research.

The Geneva Public Library will present a genealogy research roundtable on Saturday, April 15 at 10 a.m. Get together with others who are interested in family history research. Other attendees and a library staff member can help you with your research. Just starting out? Attendees will be glad to show you tools you need to being your journey.

The Palmyra Community Library will present “Ancestry.com and Genealogy 101” on Tuesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. Learn how to use Ancestry.com and utilize it for your family history research. This is a beginner friendly class. You must bring your own laptop and be proficient in using it.
