Several NY genealogy societies to meet in December

Several New York State genealogy societies will be hosting programs in December. Volunteers of the Buffalo Irish Genealogical Society will be at the Heritage Discovery Center on Saturday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help with genealogical research.

Fort Ticonderoga staff to research lives of soldiers

In October Fort Ticonderoga launched a project – Ticonderoga Soldiers – to trace those who were stationed there from 1755 to 1783. Staff at the fort museum are looking through military records, orders, court documents and personal letters to trace the lives of the soldiers.
